Purple
The color of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic. However, because it is rare in nature, purple can appear artificial.

Native American color meaning:
Purple (Wisdom): Gratitude/healing

Asian:
Purple: Wealth

Astrological Color associations:
Pisces -- White or Purple

Color Therapy, Color and the Brain:
Violet: suppresses appetite, provides a peaceful environment, good for migraines

Language of Purple:
The use of purple in familiar phrases can help a designer see how their color of choice might be perceived by others, both the positive and negative aspects.

Good purple

* Purple cow - something remarkable, eye-catching, unusual
* Purple prose - exaggeration, highly imaginative writing (also has negative connotations)

Bad purple

* Purple speech - profanity, raunchy language
* Purple prose - exaggeration, colorful lies
* Purple haze - state of confusion or euphoria, possibly drug-induced, type of marijuana

Purple
Purple can represent royalty, spirituality, nobility, ceremony, mysterious, wisdom, enlightenment, cruelty, arrogance, and mourning.

To me:
I always put this color with a butterfly. To me it symbolizes change. It's a neutral color. Stuck right between a bright red and a calming blue. If you add more of one color it takes more of that hint. So to me it's the color of change. The color of realistic hope, of sadness but strength.
